Occasionally we find an unknown and really good "little" movie and that's what we hoped for Pay the Ghost. The scares were good, but the story was thin. There was a gratuitous death of a side character unrelated to the story that I didn't appreciate. The climatic scene was sort of Disney mixed with "Ghost" and could have been done better. I can suspend belief through some really thin stories (and do when the story makes sense), but in this case, it was too much. At least Nic Cage did an okay job as the dad. The direction and camera work was good and the makeup was really good. I really liked the carnival scene. If the story had been stronger with more thought, this would have been a good movie.
