Not a complete waste of time
18 November 2016
Warning: Spoilers
Since most everyone has had 46 years to watch it, I doubt any of this would be a spoiler.

While certainly not a classic WWII story, this wasn't a complete and total waste of time. Great if you have an hour and a half to kill and want to watch a somewhat entertaining shoot 'em up.

This one hits all the tropes and even has some characters speaking in their native tongues when appropriate, with subtitles. Not sure about the Russian, but the German was somewhat accurate. Some of these B movies just have supporting characters spout gibberish or just utter phrases in German that most English speakers know anyway.

So, we have the stalwart American commando who loses his entire unit, the British unit sent to rescue him loses their CO to an unfortunate case of acute lead poisoning so he has to share command with the totally inexperienced British XO. Mayhem ensues.

What follows is a romp through the forest eluding the Waffen SS and the Soviets, who want the rocket scientist who won't go with the Allies unless he can bring along a literal truckload of refugees. More mayhem ensues.

As I said, all the tropes and not so deep a plot that you can't take a bathroom break when you need to. It was apparently made for theatrical release but the production quality screams TV movie of the week.
