THE SHOOTING STAR is a single-episode Tintin adventure that's probably the weakest I've watched yet. It's not particularly bad per se, it's just that it doesn't feel like a Tintin adventure at all. The bad guys aren't really bad and the plot is more disaster/fantasy based than the usual crime-orientated adventures that our boyish hero goes on.
The first part of this episode involves Tintin involved in a nightmare sequence in which the world is being destroyed. It's quite fantastical and unlike anything you've seen before in Tintin. The second part of the story involves a scientific adventure and has a rather outlandish climax which just seems to be fantasy for fantasy's sake. Still, the presence of Captain Haddock lifts things and the story is so fast-paced there's no time for boredom.
