Needless to say Kirby Superstar was a hard act to follow, but its successor on the SNES is definitively sub-par. This was the period of time that they were making the Kirby series more simplistic and kid- friendly. Kirby's powers aren't as interesting or effective as in other games. You have several animals who will change your power's abilities, but they are only a few attacks that are really interesting. None of the enemies, even the bosses, are particularly challenging.
There are a couple highlights to this game: The cartoon-like look to the game is visually unique and well-done. Also, some of the puzzles for obtaining the bonus items can be challenging and are well thought out.
Overall, the game is good for young kids and Kirby enthusiasts, but for a general audience I wouldn't necessarily recommend.
