Cleopatra Wong returns in this unfunny sequel

Warning: Spoilers
I saw this Filipino comedy action movie under the title THE DEVIL'S THREE. It's a sequel to CLEOPATRA WONG and features Singaporean actress Marrie Lee returning to the title role of ass-kicking femme fatale, accompanied by a couple of sidekicks and gunning for a kidnapping gangster gang who have taken hostage a drug lord's innocent daughter. I was expecting the usual low rent action from the Philippines, but what I got was a broad, trashy comedy made on a tiny budget.

Sad to say, comedies only work if they're genuinely funny, and THE DEVIL'S THREE really isn't. The acting is of a very poor standard and the director seems preoccupied with flamboyantly gay stereotypes which get old very quickly. The attempts at martial arts are lame in the extreme and other characters like the fat strongwoman just don't really work. Bobby A. Suarez made a lot of trash during his directorial career in the Philippines but this doesn't even have the hook of being so-bad-it's-good.
