(New) Relationship mediocrity

Warning: Spoilers
"Pink Grapefruit" is an American 10-minute movie from 2015, so still fairly new at this point and it may be the most known work so far by writer and director Mike Mohan. The cast is only four people, none of them famous, which would have been fine if the movie itself had been better. It is basically the story of one couple inviting two of their friends over in an attempt to turn them into a couple. That's all there is in here. I personally found the already existing couple far more interesting than the two protagonists, which is why I never really found myself cheering for them to get together. Overall, I was glad it is such a short film as it never really delivers. IMDb has it as both a mix or romantic comedy and drama, but I'd say it is more on the lighter side, more of a comedy. But it comes short in both departments which is why I do not agree with the awards attention and give it a thumbs-down. Visually, it was okay, but that's not enough for a recommendation.
