Review of VeggieTales: The Ultimate Silly Song Countdown

It is tough to describe this little film we have here in under 10 words in a better way than it was done in the very accurate title: "VeggieTales: The Ultimate Silly Song Countdown". If you read the names Nawrocki and Vischer and now a great deal about (modern) animation, then maybe you also know already that this is of course another VeggieTale. Or is it really? These slightly under 45 minutes are actually a collection of the most memorable songs from the very music-heavy Veggie Tales collection. It was released back in 2001 and this means it is already over 15 years old. Parents who don't want their kids to be confronted with the biblical background of the VeggieTales can still show this one to their kids as the religion references are basically non-existent. Instead it is all about the songs and there really are some truly catchy tunes in here I must say. This could also be a great inclusion for a karaoke party (if the members don't take themselves too seriously) as many songs are well-known and familiar and sometimes even funnier, maybe even better, than the original with the changes to the lyrics. Also nice reference to Britney's Oops I did it again very early on. Anyway, here in Germany there were CDs released with the most known songs getting a Smurf overhaul and honestly this was showing us how it shouldn't be done. This one we got here shows us how it should be done. I very much recommend the watch and listen. Music is king in here. Certainly closer to a ****/***** than to a **/***** and I suggest you check it out.
