30th Anniversary: 1989 - the Best Year in Cinema Marathon Film #80/100: "Gross Anatomy" (1st Viewing.) Yeah, I've known about this movie since the 80s, and always linked it with the TV Series Grey's Anatomy, NEITHER of which I've seen...ever. (Sure, that show's based in my future hometown of Seattle and it's been on for 50 seasons, but I never got into it.) Anyways, this stars one of my all-time least favorite leads: Matthew Modine as a sorta hotshot med student in an obvious romance with fellow student and Melrose Place alumni Daphne Zuniga and a cast of other stereotypes and dramatic characters. At times, it's smart and then immediately in those same scenes Modine is either directed to kill the moment with overacting or made a choice to. I liked this, despite the predictability and bad characters at times, but wouldn't really want to see any of this ever again. Now, as for the TV series I've heard so much about...
