I remember seeing "Solaris," the Russian version. There are elements of the thinking of that monumental piece of work in this episode. We have the appearance of what appear to be ghosts. We have a "living" entity, or so it would seem, which appears to be inanimate. That entity is messing with the minds of the crews of various ships. We have saboteurs working their unconscious magic, especially a young woman. We have a cliffhanger ending. What's next.
