Unusual for a film to rely on a lot of atmospheric soundtracks whilst maintaining my attention. This film not only managed that but also added a nice extra by surprising me without the anticipated jumps scenes, which had climaxes that could have accommodated many such scenes. However, nearly ten hours, of undoubtedly skilled professionals of their trade which is exemplified throughout this ten episodes of season one, to follow a story that has some striking similarities to another film by the name of Fallen (staring Denzel Washington) was too long for me. Comparatively, Fallen has a tight back story whereas The outsider had a somewhat open end, possibly for a season 2, that feels excessive to contribute anything more than arty cinematography and music.
