A great and plausible enough ending for the series. Many plot points are neatly wrapped up without shortcuts.
I wouldn't call the ending a cliff hanger. The show resolves a six episode arc quite nicely. It's a cliffhanger in the sense that the ending to Back to the Future is a cliffhanger. It doesn't leave you hanging as much as leave open the possibility for a second season. But, there could easily not be a second season and the ending would work just fine.
