This "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" episode from season 1 number 11 from Jan. of 1986 called "The Gloating Place" is one that's was interesting and entertaining with a cruel twist of fate it proves don't play fake victim or cry lone wolf! Based on a short story from Robert Bloch("Psycho") it involves the work of an apparent serial killer who has a taste for young girls who disappear one by one and turn up dead. And these stories are the local news media's bread and butter as local crime TV reporter Carl(Stephen Macht) steams up the airwaves with sensational reporting. Now young high school teen Samantha(Isabelle Walker) wants some attention and spotlight as she's not popular or in the clique so she decides to visit a crime scene and cry wolf! Now this leads to a story for Carl only the story ends with a cruel twist of fate for Samantha as mister TV reporter wears a different face as the episode ends with a revealing twist Carl is not who he appears to be! Overall well written episode of suspense and drama that twist with fate as it proves a lesson don't seek attention!
