Immensely entertaining

Warning: Spoilers
I really enjoyed this movie. Everything I could want in a behind the scenes look at a rescue mission. I will be discussing the film, so consider this a spoiler alert. I would say Watch it, then come back and match points. First off, everything production wise, was top notch. Ben Affled put together and delivered an impressive package. I ave read how some viewers protest the liberties taken in the presentation, How they felt undue credit was given here, and not given there. I was not aware of any of this, as I watched the movie last night. I was in my early thirties when the actual event took place. The movie did an excellent job of recreating the period. The music, the TV newscasts. And Carter working. behind the scenes. And the pictures of the rioting. These I recall. What the movie wisely does, is concentrate on the individual six escapees. Living in fear even in the home of the generous Canadian Ambassador. The tension is intensified when they are discovered as missing. In the mean time there is this plan. At first I though Alan Arken was Bruce Willis. Strong physical resemblance here. Arken was great, as he is in everything he does. He played off John Goodman. a down to earth Hollywood guy. Their no crap banter is precious. They give the movie title a new perspective. The third act is an exercise in suspense. The stakes have been set, the odds are not good. any second in any scene something could go very wrong. I lied the end too. It delivered an emotional finaly. The always appropriate score was by Alaxandre Desplat. Do I care that much of the account is fictionalized at best. We are entertained, and perhaps a little more aware of the situation of the times. Had our leaders not chose to overturn such and such a leader. Only bad can follow. That is not howver the point of view the film chooses to take. Indeed our guys are the good guys The truth of the matter may well not be known, or reviled in this screen play. but the uplift and good feelings meets the positive results of the original outcome. And Yes, A Bully well done to our Canadian allies. I suspect that Hitchcock up there in the heavenly screening room, would approve. Wow, a Eight Star rating,
