Such a huge let down.

So it's pretty obvious that around the episode 6 point of production, the creatives were suddenly commissioned to produce a 2nd season having already committed to rounding the story off like the standalone novel it's adapted from. It's bizarre, frankly - I've never known such a drastic drop in quality and tone at such a late point in a season, honestly episodes 1-6 I couldn't stop watching but then it's as if the writers had a lobotomy or were sacked uniformly to be replaced by the team behind the worst action sequels you've ever seen. I honestly feel so gutted, Kaley Cuoco is brilliant and the ending let's her talents and performance down. For shame, HBO. Don't be a slave to ratings, just let something stand alone as a piece of work and move on. Don't try to create content from a text that doesn't exist, it didn't work with big little lies and it's spectacularly failing here. Honestly don't bother with this show, cos if you enjoy its splendours for the first half of the season - you won't want to return if you finish it.
