Resident Alien (2021– )
10/10
Definitely one of the best series of the past 10 years

Resident Alien definitely has to be one of my favourite series from the 2000's.

Much like Big Bang Theory, it has a twinge of science, and it also gets really serious sometimes tackling subjects about fitting into society, racism, and other psychologies of your mind.

It even has some murder mystery twinges, and the science fiction aspects are all done with a bit of tongue in cheek humour.

On top of all that, it gets very emotional sometimes, and gets me teared up considering whether the alien will fall in love, or decide to obliterate the planet of all life (not a spoiler, because this is something that comes out early in the episodes).

Each episode has some forward momentum, and advances the plot! Unlike many series that try to keep each episode endlessly giving you a carrot to come and watch the next episode, this series actually gives you a full meal and makes you want to come back to the next one to see what's on the plate going forward.

I was sad to see the series end after 10 episodes, but I can say the ending of the season was perfect in that it closed off some potentially frustrating endings that could have transpired, and it only makes you want to watch season 2 even more. Looking forward to the possibilities...

I'm so excited to see it has been renewed for Season 2, and look forward to one of the best series on TV ever.
