First of all, this may not be grammatically correct, as there seems to be some noun-noun disagreement in the comparison, winding up at an unacceptable state of singularity. More importantly, Alice should have kept her critique of Ralph's physiognomy to herself if she could not come up with something more supportive. If she cannot say something nicer, she should hold her tongue, and bring home the bacon herself!
