WJHC AM (2022)

Great Budget Filmmaking. Comedy Gold!
25 June 2022
This is a perfect example of how creative, hard working, talented filmmakers can make a film better than many Hollywood studios.

The screenplay is consistently funny and hardly has a dull moment. Camera work and editing are seamless and immersive.

Vinny Vinyard gives a standout performance in the lead role. His reluctant late night christian DJ is a perfectly balanced blend of lovable everyman and over the top prankster. He also comfortably shares the screen with the talented supporting cast.

And what a supporting cast! A couple of standout character parts are by Travis Graves( as the cringy station owner's son) and Katie Gannon (you might think she's eye candy, but her deadpan delivery of her wrestling lineage is absolute comic perfection!) Also outstanding is Tracy Yaste. Her flawless dramatic performance as the over pressured struggling station manager adds weight to the ensemble (she is also perfect delivering part of the film's creepy and tragic climax)

But stealing the show is Luke Walker as the stoner sage Arlo! He deserves a best supporting actor in a comedy nomination. Every time he is on screen his delivery and comic timing is perfect. Hopefully his Arlo character will somehow be a reoccurring role in future projects!

WJHC AM is a late night win in every way. Super fun and often creepy, it was a big hit with the group I watched it with!
