After episode 6: It's vast, epic, positively imposing and a feast for the eyes
30 September 2022
I'll be breef on this, for the sake of it. Upon airing the first episode, my curiosity led me to reading the first reviews. Trust me when i say this... They do not do this epic series any justice. As a huge LOTR movie fan, as an avid movie lover, this was one of those times that certain reviews brought doubt in to my mind. I was furious and absolutely reluctant in to giving it a go. However, knowing that I am a LOTR fan, and the fact that it is linked to the original film, i gave it a go.

It goes without saying that they've put every penny on the production of the series. It's vast, positively imposing and a feast for the eyes. The acting of the leading and supporting actors are top notch.

People nowadays have a tendency to expect shocking and thrilling scenes from the start, a short attention span kind of a mindset. An epic series like this, needs a build up. It's a vast fictional world with untapped possibilities.

The first episodes gave a view in to the world of elves, dwarfs and humans... It goes without saying, that it's a positively, 'interesting' slow burner. Episode 6 was the prime example of that. Had the series started off like episode 6, the rating's would have goon through the roof... As I've said, people have a short attention span nowadays...

So my advice to anyone reluctant in to seeing this amazing show is as following:
  • Ignore the unjust negative reviews
  • give it a chance
  • have patience...

My rating: 8.5/10

I'm excited for more!
