Good but the focus was wrong
12 November 2022
I did enjoy this movie. Everyone put in strong performances and there was some good tense scenes.

I think the problem was that the movie really focused on Jessica Chastains character too heavily. She has a heart condition, yes we get it, stop overplaying it because that's not the point of this story. Yes, it's about how she helped the police but so much time was taken up with her, the actual crimes were sort of rushed over. There was no time taken to be in the mind of the killer whatsoever, no insight into his mindset, reasoning or conflict, so the 'drama' kind of fell flat. Everything he did previously was glossed over in a single scene, there was no 'his perspective' moments so it felt really one dimensional.

Not that it's a bad movie. It's worth watching. Just felt like it could have been done a lot better.
