When I sat down here in 2023 to watch the 2020 comedy special "Aisha Brown: The First Black Woman Ever", I had actually never heard about it, nor had I ever heard about Aisha Brown. All I knew was that it was a stand-up comedy special that I hadn't already seen, and thus I opted to give it a chance.
Turns out that Aisha Brown's sense of humor didn't really correspond well with mine, since I had no laughs throughout the course of the 42 minutes that the show ran for. I was brought to a very slight chuckle twice throughout the course of her show, and that was it. So "Aisha Brown: The First Black Woman Ever" wasn't really something that tickled me the right places.
It should be said that Aisha Brown definitely shows a good amount of self-confidence on the stage as she delivers her material, and that helped to make the show all the more watchable and bearable to sit through.
I am sure that there is an audience out there for a show such as this. I just wasn't a part of that particular target audience.
My rating of "Aisha Brown: The First Black Woman Ever" lands on a four out of ten stars.
