The time has come to talk about Guardians of the Galaxy volume 3. I always knew James Gunn could deliver great adventure films with loads of jokes and action, but I never thought he could make heartfelt stories like this one. As usual, he put the characters first and gave each the right amount of time and dialogue so they could feel entirely fleshed out. His skills have improved so much that he can now compete with renounced filmmakers.
At first, when they announced the villain, I was a bit skeptical, but the execution was so great that I put him only below Thanos. The High Evolutionary, despite his death in the end, had so much time to show his motives, his powers, and above all his insanity.
The visual effects were an overall improvement from the first two installments and easily one of the best effects Marvel ever delivered.
The music choice, once again, is outstanding.
The third and final installment is, in my opinion, the best of the three and the best way James Gunn could close off the saga of the Guardians.
