It's perfect

Warning: Spoilers
"Wait, you rated this 5 stars but call it 'perfect?' Are you serious, Clark?"

Of course I am. This show was perfect. Not because of the writing, acting, camera, music, effects, plot, drama, romance, comedy, action or all those things. Oh no! It's perfect because it is exactly what it wanted to be. It's perfect because it's so simple and obvious what's going to happen, yet I couldn't look away.

Here's why I loved this show: I've become obsessed with the way the CW writes their characters. It's the same writing and same characters in every show they do. I can't get over it. They're all the same. I religiously watched Supernatural and loved Arrow (at first). I gobbled up The Flash for a while and even logged a season with The Legends of Tomorrow. Every CW show is the same!

So here we are with the same characters and the same type of drama and love interests and of course I was hooked because I got exactly what I expected.

I have one other strange remark before I get into the real analysis.

Literally every teen character had sexual tension with every other teen character. It's fascinating how they wrote this and how it's brought to life by the actors. Lol.

Anyway, "real" analysis:

There is a scene where a blimp gets blown up and it's straight from a PlayStation 2 game. Most panoramic scenes were absolutely horrendous-looking, too.

The "humor" line deliveries were embarrassing. The writing of dialogue in general wasn't very good, but again, that's CW's style and what I expected.

The acting of the Brody March character is very bad. You can't tell me "that's his character." No, he's just not good.

On the other hand, Stephanie Brown actress was actually pretty good. She had good emotion, but her veneers were distracting.

The young lady who played Robin (Carrie Green) was also not good. Not as bad as Brody and she had some moments, but her mouth barely moves on most line delivery.

Overall, the plot of The Court of the Owls was a really cool direction to go in. Some pieces of that were executed so well. However, the overall problem with this show in general had to do with there being absolutely no believability to any of this, and that was an excruciating recurring problem. A group of 15-year-olds taking out centuries-old assassins and security for mob bosses, mixed with them just hanging out in a bell tower going unnoticed was wild. Perhaps the best scene is where they get "found out" by the cops and they fool them by Stephanie pretending it's her bong lounge. Lol.

I could write a dissertation on this show, but I'll stop now. Greg Berlanti has quite a thing going but I'm desperate to find out if he knows what he's doing or if he is putting out shows he thinks are actually good. Either way, get that bag, Greg.

Would i recommend this show? Of course! If you're like me and like dumb things like this, then you'll love it. If you are looking for quality, thought-provoking screen time, go watch Broadchurch, The Last of Us, Andor or Agatha Christie's Poirot.
