Review of OMG 2

OMG 2 (2023)
8/10
More complex but less effective
27 August 2023
The sequel fair is being held in the month of August. This fair is held all over the country. Two Hindi, one Bengali. Among them, the prequels of a Hindi and the Bengali film are also among the top 10 Hindi and Bengali films of all time. I have reviewed to the Bengali one, now it's Hindi's turn. (And yes, I haven't seen the prequel to the third movie yet and I won't watch the sequel).

Anyway, as I said this Hindi movie prequel is one of the top 10 Hindi movies. So expectations were high. I still regret not seeing the previous film in theatre. This one also does not disappoint. But some points did not match with the previous picture. Previously it was the existential crisis of God. But this time God appeared like a service center. And the first film objected to the monetary bribes, here Shiva took rs.285/- for his service. These two things seem a bit odd. But the matter on which this courtcase is held is our most sensitive issue. No matter how much it is discussed, this sensitivity will remain. And that's why I have no sympathy for Pankaj Tripathi's son. But a way to overcome the inertia of this complex object has been shown. A lot of wood still needs to be burnt for that method to be effective. And two things are fun to see. The first is the hero Shiva and the villain Ram. Arun Govil is the villain of this film. And the second is Lord Shiva sings the song of the film's biggest rival, "Ur Jaa Kale Kawa". Very skillfully made. But not as impactful as the prequel. A remake or a sequel to a classic, neither can go to the same level just like the bengali one, Proloy.
