Fine model work, explosions and underwater photography lift this offbeat adventure into Inner Space that takes Ed and Billington on the Skydiver to the sea's bottom. They discover a huge undersea dome, hunting for a link between fatal incidents on the surface with another UFO pre-invasion.
A nice variation on the serie's usual suspense, with mre danger added as they have evidence of alien infiltration into SHADO headquarters via a traitor. Some familiar actors like David Warbeck and Steven Berkoff plus sexy Anouska Hempel (wearing the partially sea-through Undersea uniform) show up in minor roles.
Though far afield from the usual Outer Space antics, it's an interesting segment, sort of a pilot for a spinoff series that could have been called "The Dome" (as we've seen intriguing studio sets representing the interior of the spooky Dome). Especially of interest is a central plot point based on the concept of Deep Fakes, now in the news but clearly just sci-fi five decades ago when this was shot.
