Average Attempt in Unfamiliar Territory: Naan Yen Pirandhen falls short of MGR's Legacy
29 September 2023
Warning: Spoilers
"Naan Yen Pirandhen" is not a good Film for MGR standards. The film's plot revolves around Kannan, a married man who works under a rich businessman, Sundaram, while pretending to be a bachelor. Trouble ensues when Sundaram's daughter falls in love with him.

This is the only Film which features MGR in a family-oriented role, which does not suit his style of acting and image. Shivaji Ganeshan would have been a better choice to play the role of Kannan. Inspite of MGR not being an ideal choice, he has given his best, which is enhanced by good performances from KR Vijaya and MN Nambiar. M Krishnan's Screenplay keeps the story engaging at places, but there are lags, which affects the narration pace. The Cinematography and editing is very good.

The music, composed by Shankar-Ganesh features some good songs, which adds some value to the film. Overall a watchable Film, but not good enough for MGR's standards.

My Rating: 5/10 Verdict: Average.
