One of the most ridiculous tropes in Cop/Crime Series: the moment a police officer is kidnapped by a deranged serial killer/rapists.
This "scenario" is the worst of cliches and shows how desperate or lazy (or both) the writers of a show have become.
There is not a single original thing in this episode that we haven't watched again and again and again.
-The main hero in destress trying to find his beloved one? Check!
-The omnipotent villain that is always a step ahead? Check!
-Running against time cause the victim will die soon? Check!
-Having a camera showing the victim? Check!
-Desert scenery? Check!
-Having the victim buried alive? Check!
-Finding the victim the very last moment? Check!
And I guess a lot of PTSD will follow for poor Maddie, who let's recall, a few years earlier had to experience the tragic loss of her mom.
This was awful in any degree. Hopefully the season will get better.
