The soldier is back in Miami with his family and they are just having a BBQ acting like there isn't a giant alien ship right above them that is killing the human race. Okay I can get past that. Maybe they just want to have a good time before dying. What really set me off was the next scene. A boy is drowning in the pool and everyone is just standing around screaming doing nothing. The soldier runs from the complete other side of the yard is the ONLY one to jump in the pool after him and preforms life saving CPR to say this kids life. After he yells at the kid saying you need to be careful, which is completely understandable. What do the parents do? Thank him for saving their sons life? Give him a hug and say we are so happy you were here bc we obviously can't swim? No.... The yell at him and stare at him like he just beat the kid up and didn't just save that kids life. They even take it a step further and kick him out of their house. It made zero sense and is some of the worst writing I've seen in a long time. I'm a sucker for end of the world/alien type shows and movies so I'll stick with it but this show has some of the most unlikable characters I've come across. I'm not even going to get into how much I hate the bratty kid who won't listen to his mom in the first episode and almost gets his entire family killed and shows zero remorse for his actions even after the fact.
