. . . a 92-second animated film tribute to one of my favorite actors on the Old Time TV Channel growing up, Harold Jay Smith. Since an earlier live-action feature--MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON--had stolen some of the pizzazz from the surname of "Smith" by the time Harold became a professional thespian, his agent decided to anchor his middle name with the fan designation fondly bestowed upon him during his younger years as a wildly popular Canadian lacrosse star for the Toronto Tecumseh's, and became Tinsel Town's Jay Silver Heels. Son of a World War One hero, Mr. Smith has been inducted for the Lacrosse Hall of Fame. Unfortunately, after years of working as a stand-up comedian on John Carson's Tonight Show and as a TV guest star guiding The Brady Bunch through the Grand Canyon, among other memorable roles, Jay suffered a stroke which ultimately claimed his life.
