Even though Quawntay Adams was a criminal and escaped from prison, his crime was only for intent to possess a large amount of marijuana. But he gave himself up after escaping prison, willingly served his time, and later fought his case for a reduced sentence. Now out of prison and a free man, he tells his story, inspires others as a motivational speaker, and runs a nonprofit called "The Chasin' Freedum Foundation," which provides support for inmates with nonviolent drug offenses. The main character is a Black American man, and other characters are Black and White. Most characterizations are conventional and some people might find them stereotypical.
