With dark, sometimes melancholy images in a calm narrative style, we follow the fate of three women as they struggle to escape it. You get to know them all better and immerse yourself in their world, you feel the great pressure they are under because they are safe from nothing, manipulative family members, such as their own mothers, try to exert psychological pressure on the women. Especially if they have children, there are always threats to take them away.
The whole thing really gets to you (especially as this series is based on real events), the women manage to arouse my sympathy and I root for them to have the strength to win this battle. I was also touched by the recurring children's song. It is not clear until the end of the series whether they will make it or not. At the very end, there is information about what happened to all the "real" people via text overlays, which I always find very interesting.
