The Best of the Worst Franchise

Warning: Spoilers
Although still hugely flawed I actually enjoyed it more than the first, which isn't saying much at all. The jokes in the second installment , while still not all that comical for me, are at the very least tamed down from the overly creepy advances by Bill Murray's character in the first one. His character still gives me the creeps in this one.

The plot in this movie has similar issues to the first film. There's just no real natural progression to it and the solutions are always just the ghostbusters making up some random fake pseudoscience -y term to describe what's going on. I get it's supposed to be like nerdy and therefore funny, but it's so overused and gets exhausting quickly. The connections used to advanced the plot are just made up off the cuff with no rhyme or reason for any of it. Still can't quite figure out what purple goo running under New York had anything to do with a Carpathian tyrant in a painting.

Even more bizarre to me was that the ghostbusters just all the sudden out of nowhere came up with this idea to use "positively" charged goo to counteract the negative goo and ride around on the Statue of Liberty to somehow uplift people's spirits and fight the tyrant. I suppose I could get past all this if it gave me a few laughs, but it didn't.

Despite all of these issues, I still enjoyed it more than the original ...
