It's been many years since I saw this one, but I still remember how touching it was.
It's one of those rare gay coming of age movies which manages to actually be pretty good and relatable. One of those, I wish it had been my own life moments. A lot of gay coming of age movies tend to focus too much on the suffering. This one instead focuses on salvation and compassion. It's not quite Beautiful Thing levels, but very touching, still.
I can't remember much about it, other than how it felt more like a fever dream. Even if it is a bit of a gay fantasy, it's a pretty dang good one. I still feel warm fuzzy feelings every time I see it come up in my recommendations. I would totally recommend it, for that reason alone. However, it offers more than just that.
