This movie reminded me a bit of Summer Storm. It's another happy gay coming of age romance. Although, it's a different take on gay romance than the former.
Personally, I feel warm fuzzy feelings every time I'm reminded of Summer Storm. I like how both movies are kinda dreamy. However, Summer Storm felt more like a fever dream, and this one feels more like a sweet romance. Personally, I feel stronger feelings about the former, maybe because it was more nostalgic. Also, it came out at a time when happy gay coming of age romances were rare. Back then, most were pretty sad, or contained a lot of dark elements. Summer Storm was rather refreshing, at the time.
This one is more romantic, and the boys are very cute and sweet. I like it's take on gay romance. It's a bit old-fashioned, perhaps. However, it's so rare to see a genuine gay romance, such as this. It's definitely worth a watch, and I'd be willing to sit through it again.
