Held my interest despite the obvious flaws

Warning: Spoilers
I will never understand CBS crime drama writers. Don't they have access to current or former FBI agents who can explain how situations are really handled? With two people already dead, why wasn't it a "shoot on site" order? I understood that the biggest risk with the aerosolized Ricin attacks was getting sprayed directly. The gas dissipated quickly. Respirators/gas masks and even regular face covering can affect our breathing efficiency, speech and vision. The one situation I didn't understand was Charlotte Sullivan's character (Special Agent Jessica Blake) going into the suspected attacker's apartment without a respirator. I would have thought that a HAZMAT crew would've been called immediately. It turned out that she wasn't exposed to Ricin but had an aneurism and subsequently died because of it. I'm sure Dick Wolf and company would explain that they wanted Maggie Bell and her desire to be a mother - to become bigger and help drive the show. They didn't seem to care how they got there. Although it wasn't clear who would take custody of Blake's daughter after her death. Bell and Blake were best friends. I hope it doesn't become a custody battle between Bell and Blake's ex (baby daddy). Note: I submitted this review before watching subsequent episodes on Paramount Plus.
