Season 1 great!!!, season 2 started OK characters appear and then disappear,the whole premise of A1, and future of the Human species in doubt, due to the Military Factions fighting over dwindling resources
at the outer rim of our Galaxy?
The previous episodes with fringe religious faction/ a collective group complete mess and padding from the scriptwriters...
Then re- introduced the main Villain, who killed Lena Headey's character in season 1 Finale, flashbacks , Halan's father also military,halan's childhood and upbringing revealed, additional beacon keepers that had arrived from other stations, and the virtual assistance Bots, being gradually removed, a complete lack of moral compass in the ruling Hierarchy...hmm! Darwin's Natural Selection...?
Not Really, as long as the AI's onboard have imprinted these personalities now gone, the Artifact brings them back as AI/human entities... phew! They have evolved....

This is an exercise in Cerebral wipes, and the Artifact in outer space, as the watcher which absorbs the souls of the departed, the human life span might be extended in the Future, but Irrelevant.. I seriously doubt there will be a Season 3.. A ridiculous mess for the viewing audience here in the 21st Century... As outside re- viewers REDDIT have ventured, What the Hell were they Smoking..
