College song composer ("Sing UCLA", "Stanford Scalp Song", "Fight On for Michigan State"), songwriter, author, publisher. He wrote songs for Broadway, and USO acts for Marlene Dietrich, Billy Gilbert, Jim Burke, and Ann Sheridan. He joined ASCAP in 1920 and was an ASCAP director in 1924-1927.
