- The greatest prison break in history became America's most notorious cold case. The escape from Alcatraz in 1962 forced the government into a merciless manhunt. Still, the three inmates were never found.
- Alcatraz: Escape to the Wiregrass explores the connections of two of the three Alcatraz escapees - the Anglin brothers, John and Clarence - to the "Wiregrass" region of Southeast Alabama, Southwest Georgia, and North Florida. Beginning with their robbery of the Bank of Columbia in Alabama, the film traces the series of events that led to their incarceration at the infamous federal prison on Alcatraz Island. Where this documentary diverges from others, however, is in the solid evidence that it offers that the Anglin brothers - and possibly Frank Morris as well - actually succeeded in their attempt to escape from Alcatraz prison. The documentary presents a remarkable series of new facts in the case that strongly suggests that at least two and possibly all three of the inmates escaped back to the region of pine trees and peanut fields of the Wiregrass region.
- Three prisoners escape from Alcatraz, San Francisco in 1962 and reportedly died in the surrounding waters. But, FBI files say otherwise.
- In June 1962, three inmates successfully broke out of Alcatraz prison, never to be seen again.
