- After Poirot pays a routine visit to his dentist, the doctor apparently shoots himself to death a short time later. Chief Inspector Japp appropriately recruits the detective as both witness and consultant.
- Having financial problems, Mitch and Eddie get lifeguard jobs at a private Malibu beach party being thrown by Dita, a brash Hollywood movie producer. When Dita witnesses Mitch rescue a group of people, she makes him an offer to appear as the lead in an action movie after the original star is incapacitated by an accident, while Harvey masquerades as Mitch's agent. Meanwhile, Shauni organizes a bikini contest in order to raise $50,000 for a marine organization dedicated to helping injured sea animals with Harvey's help, who plays another prank by entering the contest himself!
- With Sally at home with the new baby, Mac is happy to entertain his mother, Beatrice, who has come to San Francisco for a visit. She has some big news: his sister Megan is getting married. Beatrice likes the young man but Mac's quick check of his background reveals that he has a manufactured identity and history. When he confronts him, he admits to being Randy Murphy and claims to have changed his name and history to hide his working class background from them - though not Megan - so they wouldn't think less of him. He does, however, seem to be keeping secrets and when Mac sees him in surveillance footage with a known thief, he concludes that his future brother-in-law is a con artist. With the wedding day fast approaching, Mac decides to run a little con job of his own...but then Murphy has been keeping a few secrets and has a surprise or two of his own.

Then they make his goons blow up his own best car, and bring in Murdock as the Italian family's philandering heir Carlo, who only utters absurd Italian phrases. However uncle Jack, a wino who nearly lost his bride to Hannibal, and is fed up with his son admiring the Colonel, has called Decker and owes up a minute too late, so it's up to Murdock alone to save the day...

They find the CIA and MP general Fulbright on their path, but should cooperate for the national good and world peace...

However, Gomez declares that he'd like to see the money spent in certain ways. After hearing some of the Addams' suggestions, Hilliard wishes they would stay away from his campaign altogether.

Even so, Clark is forced to prove his loyalty to the gang by "eliminating" Lois and Jimmy, binding the hapless duo to a chair which is then set afire! Isn't it about time for Clark to sneak into that closet and change into Superman?
- Jimmy Olsen becomes editor of the Daily Planet for a day. It's part of a program where young people assume important offices, including mayor and police chief, for 24 hours. Jimmy, however, wants to be more than a figurehead. He publishes a story in the newspaper claiming the boy editor has important information that will convict Legs Lemmy of a robbery. That robbery occurred nearly seven years ago and the statute of limitations is about to run out. Clark Kent and Perry White, both in Clark's office, try to keep track of what Jimmy is doing. Then, Legs and his gang enter, wanting to find out what "evidence" Jimmy has. The problem is, Jimmy has none

- Ally is turning 28. That is upsetting enough to her but Elaine wants to throw a party at the bar for her, and Greg won't sleep with her and she doesn't know why. She's defending a man in court who was arrested for breaking into his date's house and massaging her feet. She tries to fix things for the couple at the bar, but it's not a good night for Ally. Especially when Renee chooses to surprise her as well and it looks like it's not going to be a happy birthday after all.
