- Old King Cole marries the Woman in the Shoe. As soon as they get home, the babies show up from every drawer and closet, much to the king's chagrin. As the singers keep informing us (until the king shuts the window on them), it's the end of his happiness. We spend most of the picture watching his baby assembly line, as he washes them, sends them through the rinse line, dries them with a roller towel, powders them, sends them floating along with balloons, diapers them with paper towels stapled in place, and finally flips them into sleep suits and into their cradles. Time to catch up on the sewing; the machine is connected to the cradles and rocks them as he sews. Once everyone is asleep, the king rests, until two babies run the machine at warp speed, sending everyone flying, ultimately into the king's lap.
- Little Audrey likes school, but doesn't like Mother Goose rhymes. She gets so involved in the crooks in her comic books that she doesn't hear when asked by the teacher to recite a rhyme, Instead she comes up with hip-gangster talk. Her punishment is to wear a dunce cap and sit in the corner. She goes to sleep, has a dream and finds out that Mother Goose is a "hep" character and that there is more excitement in the nursery rhymes than in her comic books.
- An artists, trying to tune into a certain radio station, gets Fairyland instead. Humpty Dumpty, Mary and her little lamb and Tom the Piper's Son are all there, and Dinky Doodle and his dog join them. The program ends and the station signs off when Dinky, mad because Mary refused his marriage proposal, knocks her little lamb across the yard.
- Taken to a hospital, after suffering a dizzy spell, Charley is told by a 'nut', posing as a doctor, that he suffers from 'Tetra-Ethyl", and the only remedy is to sit down, relax, clear the mind and recite a nursery rhyme. The fake doctor gives Charley a package to deliver to Mr. Henderson, the "Supreme Crown of the Knights of the Brown Derby." At the hotel, hosting a convention of "Brown Derbies," Charley suffers a dizzy spell and the only place he can find to sit down is in Mr. Henderson's lap, where he recites "Mary Had a Little Lamb." Mr. Henderson, it is revealed, also suffers from "Tetra-Ethyl." Seized by an attack, Henderson sits down and tries to recite "Who Killed Cock Robin," but forgets the lines, which Charley and Henderson's daughter, Betty, sing in a song together. That, coming at the end of the second reel,is all it takes for Charley and Betty to decide to get married.

The little lamb who bears the name of "Sister,'' was especially trained for this part.

When the man is charged and the whole case hinges on Mike's testimony, the other man who happens to be his brother decides to lash out at Mike to get him to change his testimony by terrorizing Jill.
