Jallaludin Mohommad (Akbar) who had inherited his father, Humayan's Mughal Empire at the age of 13, after his father's death, had been brought up almost like a trained assassin by Bairam Khan, his father's supreme commander. Hard-nosed, rough, tough and heartless - and priding himself on the each of those facets of his personality, the only thing Akbar had learnt was to expand his empire - at the cost of others lives - at the cost of emotions - at the cost of love - the word he was never familiar with. Whilst Jodha, the daughter of Raja Bharmal, the Rajput King of Amer (one of the most affluent Rajput Kingdom's of its time) valued each of those emotions - valued the life of even the birds and bees of her kingdom - she only hated the Mughal's whom she felt were intruding upon her land, and wanted to oust them from Rajputana, along with their Emperor Jallaluddin, whom she hated with her heart. Little did Akbar know at the time of his marriage to Jodha, the fiery Rajput princess, in order to expand his empire into Rajputana, the land of the Valiant Rajputs, he would in turn be embarking upon a new journey - the journey of true love - he would discover the heart which he never felt he had - and it would throb for its rightful lover - Jodha.

- Circa Mughal rule in India, the Rajputs get together to discuss the ouster of Badshah Akbar, who is now the Emperor of Hindustan (India). Prominent amongst the Rajputs are Virendev Rathod, and Rana Vikramjit Singh Sesodia. In order to cement their relationship, Vikramjit would like his brother Rana Bhojraj to get married to Krishna Rathod, to which Virendev agrees. But unknown to Virendev, his son, Jaimal, has already arranged Krishna's wedding with another Rajput family from Ajmer. Faced with two grooms for his daughter, Virendev asks Krishna to commit the ultimate sacrifice for the well-being of the Rajputs, and asks her to consume poison and kill herself, which she does. Shocked and grief-stricken, the Sesodias propose to marry Bhojraj with Meera Rathod, to which all agree, and the wedding takes place with great pomp and ceremony on one hand, while uniting the Rajputs against Akbar. After Meera re-locates to her new home, it is then Bhojraj finds out that she is in love with somebody else, and has devoted her life and soul to him. Further inquiries lead him to discover that his wife's true love is none other than Lord Krishna. Meanwhile the news of Meera's infidelity shocks the region, and the Head Priest must now decide her fate - and the only options he has in front of him - either Meera accept Bhojraj as her husband and forget about Lord Krishna - failing which she will be asked to drink a potently lethal poison which will kill her instantly.

- Beginning of the journey in Jaipur: Raphaël meets Éléonore Gaspa ( Cycling Jaipur) and they begin a bike tour: they arrive in front of the Water Palace (Jal Mahal): then in streets they meet a lot of animals (the elephants, the sacred cows-the people feed these animals for their karma), later they arrive at a market and eat a kachori (fritter of lentils) and drink a "lassi".On the next day they take a hot air balloon to Amber (the former capital of the reign) and they visit the step-well of Amber: later they pay a visit to Radju , a guide and friend of Éléonore: the Radju's mother prepares "paratha" a flat bread made with potatoes and spices: they see the stable inside the house where the family breeds cows.After that Raphaël meets Shennaz Bano in front of the Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal with its 945 windows).In the streets they see decorations of the "Diwali" (feast of the Lights),: Jérôme buys a box of candies.Then they arrive at the mansion of the family: Ransher Singh, the husband of Shennaz receives Jérôme and shows him the mansion transformed into a guesthouse (18 rooms for visitors).On the morning Raphaël goes to the barber and later he is invited for the "Diwali" in the mansion of Rudra Pratap Diggy: the cousin of Rudra helps him to buy a traditional costume and Jérôme enjoys the "Diwali" celebration in the mansion of Rudra ( music and dances). On the next day Jérôme travels to the Ranthambore Nature Reserve where he meets Frédéric: the go to the fort of Ranthambore where they enjoy the panorama and later they visit the park to see Bengal tigers (a female and her 3 daughters): Frédéric speaks about the importance of the protection of the Bengal tigers (there are many poachers).After that Raphaël travels to Udaipur and spends a moment with the artist Rajeshi Soni : they enjoy the panorama of the City Palace and the Lake Palace : they drink a massala chai.Later Raphaël takes a boat to to the Lake Palace where he is received by Balraj Singh (the public relations director), they visit the palace with its inner courtyard and then Jérôme meets the chef Manish Joshy.Later Manish and Jérome take a boat and in the middle of the lake they have upper : black chicken in curry sauce and women dancing traditional dances. Besides we see zooms about the Taj Mahal near Agra (the official photographers, the inlaid marble miniatures), about the fashion in Rajasthan (Mr.Bikaner, the turban, the mustache club), about the Takhur nobles (their influence in the political life, the transformation of the fort into a hotel), about the Mayo College ( the education of the elites, the college for girls, the polo players), about the Raika nomad people, about Batheshwar (the 42 temples, the animal fair., the marwari horses and the horses exhibitions)
