Meanwhile Sledge (Ken Vanderlip), who is rotting away in prison for the murder of the former Marshal, learns of Gonji's regaining control of the town and decides to break out of jail to kill him. Sledge succeeds in his escape only to be cornered in a livery stable by Gonji, resulting in a duel-to-the-death fight.
