- A three-part series about the life story of Francis Scott Key is told through remembrances from his closest associates, as played by a group of gifted actors. Key wrote our national anthem but was also a constitutional lawyer and an ambitious political operative for President Andrew Jackson whose conflicted views on slavery reflects the antebellum societies attitudes that eventually lead to civil war. The series is a window into the antebellum mindset that in many ways continues to raise questions to this day. The film centers on interviews between the filmmaker and a series of 13 characters from history who discuss and explore the events of Francis Scot Key's lifetime in a collective conversation that's supplemented with interviews with academicians and experts on the historical period. Re-creations of some historical events add further depth to the film. Part One of F.S. Key After the Song is subtitled "The Era of Good Feelings." It starts a heartbeat after Jackson's battle of New Orleans and is a primer on early slavery. Part Two is titled "Might Versus Right." It centers on Key's change in character and his involvement in the Jackson Administration and his transformation into a political operative. Part Three is titled "Absolute Power Corrupts Absolutely." It shows how Key goes head-to-head with abolitionists' ideas -- and loses.

Jim's grandfather, a professor during WWII (the big one) , had built a sword wielding mechanical man and packed him away into cardboard boxes. Jim reassembles the robot, and when he inserts a red tinted snow globe into its chest, the automaton comes to life, much like frosty with the donning of his magical top hat. Jim, the robot, and the sister of the head Nazi must take out the skin head gang using only a chain saw, a Tommy gun and the sword. The movie is quite good for being made with a budget of an alleged $49.37.
- Down in Dallas Town is a startling film about the shifting terrain of public memory sixty years after the murder of John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963. Through interviews with people on the street and songs recorded to memorialize JFK in the mid-1960s, the film explores the impact of the assassination on issues in today's world, from lingering conspiracy theories to the proliferation of gun violence, homelessness, and the scourge of K-2. Personal narratives are juxtaposed with the sentiments articulated in blues, gospel, norteño, and calypso recordings to haunting affect. Especially poignant is the account of Mary Ann Moorman, who returns to the assassination site fifty years later and details the making of her Polaroid photograph of the fatal head shot that killed JFK as the motorcade passed through Dealey Plaza. This new resonant film by Alan Govenar confronts ways we come to terms with the past through the power of storytelling, image-making, and a songbook that is largely unknown.
