- Dog's daughter, "Baby" Lyssa, has come to town after living with her mom in Alaska for the past 6 years. Dog puts Lyssa to work with the bounty hunting crew and comes up with a scheme telling his latest fugitive that he's won a brand new Kirby vacuum cleaner.
- Dog needs to quit smoking. It's easy to see why it's so hard for Dog to quit when has to deal with fugitives like the one he's chasing today. Fugitive Walter has a tooth with a microchip that can kill him and a special box used to communicate with the military...
- Dog searches for "Bozo", a guy with a long rap sheet which includes wife beating. Naturally, Bozo's father-in-law, Leonard, does not like this guy so he is happy to help Dog find out where Bozo is staying. Also, Dog's own father-in-law, Pops, has come to Hawaii to visit the Chapmans.
- A mother calls Dog to revoke the bond out on her daughter, Rachel. We learn a lot about Beth's past in this episode and see how she can relate to Rachel's situation. Beth tries to convince Rachel to go to rehab so she can turn her life around and be a good mom.
- The day starts with Dog, his family and the crew on a float in a parade. After the parade, Beth stays at home with the kids while the guys hunt "Pana", a local drug dealer. The episode ends with Dog being honored by the City Council. Various people that Dog has helped get off drugs attend the ceremony.
- Dog's son and namesake, Duane Lee Jr., has joined the team. Although Duane Lee has worked with his father before, he hasn't been a bounty hunter for a few years. The crew has fun teasing the "new guy". The fun ends when they chase a man whose mother has revoked his bond.
- Dog knows that one of his fugitives is hiding in a homeless shelter, but the people at the shelter refuse to cooperate. Frustrated with the situation, Dog decides that his next capture should be with someone that may put up a good fight. Dog and Beth end the day with a romantic dinner.
- In this episode, we learn the story of Dog's son, Tucker, who is doing 20 years on a drug charge. At the time of his son's arrest, Dog wanted revenge for the man who sold his son the drugs. However, he was given some good advice in a chance meeting with Lilo, "The Godfather of Waikiki", which allowed Dog to accept that the man eventually will be punished. Now, Lilo has become Dog's next capture, making it an emotionally difficult job for Dog.
- While this isn't the actual pilot, A&E has taken footage from their reality show "Take This Job" (an episode they did on Dog and his bail bond business in 2003) and turned it into a "lost pilot". The episode is just like the current version of "Dog the Bounty Hunter" with extra narration.
- Today it is one of Tim's fugitives that needs to be caught. Baby Lyssa doesn't want to go on the bounty and would rather work in the office. However, Dog insists that his children learn the family business because bounty hunting is in their blood.
