Exes Miri and Isaac lock eyes across the beach, separated by Pabst-guzzling hipsters, both remnants of an end-of-summer beach barbecue. Their subsequent reconnection, a dissection of both their relationship and approaches to grieving, plays out against the sea and sand over the course the day, and is interwoven with Miri's memories of their relationship, her father, and who she is without either of those things.
