Chanchal's name in movie is Beena, Vijaylakshmi's name is Seeta.
It's a sad but very interesting movie. Madhubala wanted to play all different kinds of role therefore in her own production she played the character of a simple village girl and she played it to the perfection. Music is quite befitting. Madhubla is enchanting without make up and in simple dresses she out shined as always. The dance number at Janam ashtami in the temple has a canny resemblance to her dance in Magnum Opus movie Mughale Azam "Mohe panghat pe". I admire her for embracing Hindu culture in the movies but then most Indian movies are about Hindus. Chanchal gave a remarkable performance complimenting Madhubala every step of the way and kept some humor in the movie. Its a lovely story of two sisters so much in love with each other, the end of the movie was a tearjerker for me and I cried. I have seen this movie at least 10 times and will keep repeating because Madhubala is not among us anymore to make such movies. It's a treasure.
