Stars: Billy James Machin, Leonarda Sahani, Tony Denham, Christophe Delesques, Charlotte Gould | Written by Mathew Bayliss | Directed by Michael Fausti
We’ve previously reviewed Michael Fausti’s short Dead Celebrities and interviewed the filmmaker at Horror-on-Sea on a couple of occasions. Between that and a few other things I’d seen him say about Exit in interviews, I knew this wasn’t going to be a standard horror movie. Beyond that, I wasn’t sure what I was going to get. After watching it I’m still not 100% certain of what I got, but I think that’s intentional.
Exit begins with a brief prologue that imparts some information that would usually be held back in a film like this. Whether you find this gives the events a different perspective or is a spoiler will be an individual thing. I was initially not happy with the revelation, but the script...

Dr. Who and the Daleks/Daleks’ Invasion Earth 2150 A.D.
Blu ray
Kino Lorber
1965, 1966 / 82, 84 min.
Starring Peter Cushing, Bernard Cribbens
Cinematography by John Wilcox
Directed by Gordon Flemyng
The story of Doctor Who turns on a distinctly British conceit; our hero, a grandfatherly type usually found puttering in the garden, is in fact an alien in human form who does his puttering in a time-traveling laboratory disguised as a police box—a notion Roald Dahl might have dreamed up during one of his rare good moods.
It premiered on BBC One, November 23, 1963, the day after the Kennedy assassination (the start of the show was delayed by news updating the tragedy). British character actor William Hartnell portrayed the first Doctor to man the controls of the cosmic phone booth, followed by Patrick Troughton in 1966 and Jon Pertwee in 1970 and on and on—Jodie Whittaker currently carries the mantle and made history...

Hello, dear readers! We’ve made it through another month, which means we have a new batch of horror, sci-fi and even a handful “genre adjacent” films heading to VOD and digital platforms in the coming weeks. Some of the highlights for August’s digital debuts include La Llorona on Shudder (August 6th), Sputnik (August 14th), Open 24 Hours (August 18th), Random Acts of Violence (hits Shudder on August 20th), The Pale Door (August 21st), and Centigrade and Rogue both arrive on August 28th.
It’s also worth noting that one of my favorite documentaries of 2020, You Cannot Kill David Arquette, is slated for release sometime in late August, but an official date hasn’t been revealed just yet.
The Sonata (Screen Media) – Exclusively on Crackle August 1st

Sometimes the most unsuspecting people can be targeted by the rest of the human-or alien-race, as the competitors take advantage of their prey’s vulnerabilities. That’s certainly the case with a group of addicts, who are being marked by both a television journalist and an alien race, in the sci-fi film, ‘Invasion Earth.’ In honor of […]

"Oh god, we're not alone...!" Midnight Releasing has unveiled a new Us trailer for a lost British indie sci-fi film titled Invasion Earth, which first premiered on DVD in the UK back in 2016 with the alternate title Into the Light. It is finally getting an official Us release this year, which isn't a good sign. Famous self-help Guru, Dr. Carson, travels to his facility with eight young addicts with the aim of helping them through their troubles and integrating them back into society. A TV journalist tries to expose the group as a scam. However, all of their lives are thrown into chaos with the beginning of an alien invasion. Starring Charlotte Gould, Phoebe Delikoura, Tony Fadil, Jon-Paul Gates, Nigel Thijs, and David Shaw. As much as we enjoy featuring indie sci-fi, this looks awful. Not only is the concept bad, the footage looks so forgettable. Here's the official Us...
