Once a Fox, chased by hunting dogs, accidentally lost her tail. A witness to this, the Magpie, offers forest animals to take this tail for themselves. The Hare, on the advice of the Magpie, attached a Fox tail to his own. The Fox, having returned and not having found her tail, on the advice of the same Magpie, attached the remaining Hare's tail to herself. Meanwhile, the Hare's family shamefully expels him with a Fox tail and demands to return his tail back.
