Although this version of the Nijinsky story was abandoned (it is unclear whether or not anything was actually filmed for it), producer Harry Saltzman eventually did make a film on the subject ten years later, directed by Herbert Ross. It was a huge flop, and it was more or less the end of Saltzman's lengthy and once very successful career.
Producer Harry Saltzman (Albert R. Broccoli's partner on the James Bond films) canceled the project and it was left unfinished.
After forming a partnership with Albert R Broccoli to produce the James Bond films, Harry Saltzman continued to work on many solo projects. This is just one of many which were never completed. Meanwhile, "Cubby" Broccoli focused almost exclusively on Bond, with only two exceptions: "Call Me Bwana" (co-produced with Saltzman) and "Chitty Chitty Bang Bang", based on James Bond creator Ian Fleming's children's book.
