A typical poem starter given by Eubanks was: "It's Saturday night and I just got paid..." Of course, everyone wrote "laid," but Nipsey Russell had to come up with an entire poem line to rhyme without offending the censors. His reply was, "It's time I got some new carpet laid."
Although it was one of the last original ABC daytime game shows under Martin Starger's watch, then-new ABC president and CEO Fred Silverman moved the game to 1:30 (which was the longtime home of Let's Make a Deal (1963) since 1964 when it was on NBC, it was moved to ABC in 1968). Silverman then cancelled the show and replaced it with Family Feud (1976), which was proven more successful and lasted longer than the show.
On the final episode, the celebrity panelists, knowing that the show had been canceled, destroyed the set.
