Rick Sebak has made many unusual and interesting documentaries for Pittsburgh Public Television about a wider variety of seemingly mundane topics about pop culture in America. He's brought us films on such topics as old time amusement parks, hot dogs, strange roadside attractions and buildings, flea markets and the like. Here he addresses ice cream--something most of us usually take for granted. And the style of the show is exactly what you'd expect--the camera crew goes across the country and Sebak narrates in a friendly, folksy sort of way. Among the places visited were the various sorts of ice cream parlors in the East Coast, West Coast and even Hawaii. And, topics such as memorabilia collectors, cone manufacturers and the like are included as well. All in all, an enjoyable hour and worth your time.
